@q I’m guessing a gritter is a plow?
@q and how much snow requires a gritter? An inch or 2 is left for sun here, unless it’s freezing. Now what throws you into panic mode 6+ inches?
@CharliDuffy6 Black ice.
@ariaflame as a resident of New England, know black ice well, scary shit. So grit is salt. Gritter is spreader.
@CharliDuffy6 Salt and grit mixture I think. I've not been back in a while, and not been back during snow even longer. But when I did live there I lived above the snow line and in Winter had to wait for the grit trucks to come round before we could drive out. (Snow plough on front, grit&salt dispenser on back I think)
@ariaflame no snow? Can’t think of a worse way to spend winter. Don’t do winter sports but love shoveling and snowblowing, though anything over 18-24” at a clip can get tiring.
@CharliDuffy6 No such thing where I live now. A couple of places get a dusting in the coldest times. Eastern states get some but not my area of the West #Australia
@ariaflame so 😞. Can’t even imagine. Although people in the south always comment, when we get nor’easters, with pics of sunshine and beaches. To which I respond with a pic of hurricane ravaged area and state my snow will be melted and gone soon-how’s the rebuilding going? Two can play that game 😂
