This is a living #willow structure that I helped to build on Sunday at my local primary school with a few volunteers who run their afterschool Eco Club.

The poles were sourced from my #allotment and each one represents a single year's growth. Which is why I coppice them right back each year, otherwise they'd take over.

I gave one of the willows a second haircut in May. Despite the really dry year that we've had I've still been able to harvest some useful basketmaking material from it.
