Sophie and the Vines

I’m leading a 3-wine tasting in Leicestershire in January. Each #wine must be a reasonable price and I’ve decided to focus on #Cinsault

Why? A combination of price, progress and my inability to hide when I’m bored of talking about something. Not to mention the fact I live in the #Languedoc where Cinsault is… prevalent.

The idea is a rosé aperitif to set the scene, before a Languedoc & a S African or Chilean red fight it out.

@AlexGBardsley Cor, now *that* would be interesting! I fear it would be over-budget for this specific event, but I’m making a mental bookmark of this! ❤️ You’ve tried these? What were your impressions?

@sophieandthevines Had the Birichino on the list a few years ago. It wasn't tannic or extracted, but something about it's intensity made me wish I'd tried cellaring it for a year.

@AlexGBardsley Interesting. On a quick search I can find only one place in the UK stocking the ‘21 vintage, retailing at £35. Going on what you say, it might benefit from reposing a bit, then. I’ll look forward to it sometime!
