I do think Roberts and Barrett do want to maintain their power to intervene in elections like Greek Gods.

But if this disgraceful theory fails, I think it's because the GOP no longer controls the state legs in MI and PA -- so it's not as attractive.

@adamburck @lolgop FYI, you can go to the settings for your account and flip a switch to auto reveal CW content. The local mastodon feed gets shorter content but you (and I) don't. Everyone wins.

@lolgop This is what I’ve been thinking too, sort of. When #scotus agreed to take up this case they anticipated that the midterms would turn out much differently than they actually did. Some of them might still want to go full YOLO on ISL but a couple of them have to be looking at MI, PA, and maybe even AZ and having second thoughts.

@MisuseCase @lolgop That and SCOTUS is in no small part why they did so badly in the midterms. Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas were MVP’s. Kinda wonder if that escapes them.
