The fossil fuel industry is planning to funnel another $1.5 million into the Georgia run-off election in support of Herschel Walker.

Georgia, if you haven’t voted, make sure you do so ASAP.

Vote Warnock.

@rbreich If they haven't got the money there by now, it won't help Walker. 1.85 million Georgians have already voted, and there are only 24 hours to spend the funds. GOTV is the only thing that matters now.
@toxtethogrady @rbreich What if they spend the $1.85 million on GOTV?
@rbreich It's just as well they spend a lot of that loot into the economy rather than hoarding it like they usually do. But they're on a collision course with the Hindenburg.
@rbreich thanks for migrating away from twitter
@rbreich After all that price gouging at the gas pump and billions in profits, #FossilFuel companies will continue to funnel money into #Republicans because they allow them to hurt people and the planet.
@rbreich I've moved but if were anything like last election the massive amount of junk mail/advertising is absolutely ridiculous. There is no point in this last minute money dumping as the citizens as over it and have already made their decisions. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@rbreich

The US has one of the most corrupt electoral systems in the world.

Zero, let me say that again ZERO corporate dollars should be allowed in any election campaign.

And individual contributions should be capped, perhaps at $1k to 2k per year.

Money is bad for democracy.

@karlmorant @rbreich
Democracy is under attack globally & if the US falls ,others follow. This is a worry for the world

@rbreich A whopping 1.5M? They need to spend a bit more than that "chump change" to sell this rotten bill of goods. That kinda paltry gesture almost seems like a concession, just saying.

Hoping for the best!

@rbreich After all, the big oil/gas industries had record-breaking profits due to price gouging in the name of "inflation" with the blessings...and the encouragement, of the GOP. So donations are their "thank you" donations for the GOP's highly incompetent candidate in Georgia.
@rbreich The only good thing about fossil fuel industry funding 1.5 million to Walker is that 90% of the funds will go into the pockets of GOP Grifters.
@rbreich Excess profits cause this.
We need much higher corporate & individual top tax rates
@rbreich Congress has already blocked a windfall profits tax.
@rbreich That explains the barrage of emails and texts for Warnock. I am a supporter, donater. I have a brother in Atlanta, who is very quiet, he has been shaking the trees to get people to vote. This is two black men running, but actually it black against white, as it seems to happen in the south. It is clear the white vote is for a puppet. Vote Warnock
@rbreich voting doesn't matter. If it did they would've taken that away too. All of your options are predisposed and inflated with oil money.
@rbreich My usual approach is to see what the fossil fuel industry is putting putting money towards, then I do the opposite. Anything the fossil fuel industry wants to happen is almost always bad for our continued existence on this planet

@rbreich

I used to have an employee that would every once in a while just disappear for a few days at a time, and then reappear as if nothing happened. Turns out he would get into a blind drunk, and return after he sobered up. And he used to sweat almost as much as Herschel Walker.

@rbreich time to be a adverting rep for a tv station. Why waste funds. Money I hope these stations will put back into the very needy in our state. Roads, quality education (a obvious need here ) hospitals, endless list. Such a glaring weird situation!
@rbreich So you're saying a certain big business category wants to Pump the gas lighting candidate who's tank is empty and running on fumes?
@rbreich Last count showed Warnock ahead by around 35,000 votes.
