@conradhackett I just don't use YouTube, so have a hard time seeing that as a news source, but since I lost Twitter as my primary source I probably need to reconsider.
@conradhackett Snapchat? ๐Ÿ˜‚ FB and YouTube๐Ÿ˜ฑ
@conradhackett Interesting, but unfortunately, the graphic does not focus on age. Then it would be really meaningful and exciting.
@weltkomoedie Great news - you can get this breakdown via the link in my post.
@conradhackett For the Facebook entry it shouldn't be called news it should be called "Research" ๐Ÿคจ
@conradhackett That is a terrifying amount of people who use FB for news.
@conradhackett Wait, TikTok has news?

@conradhackett

#polls lie but something tells me this one is pretty accurate. Sadly.

@conradhackett I wonder how clearly this survey defines "gets news" -- a short headline or opening paragraph link that has to be followed and read with a browser or app, or a full content news story delivered as a Twitter thread, a video on YouTube or a post on Facebook, etc?

I skimmed through the article and could not tell. To some extent this is like asking, do you "get your news" from the radio, the corner grocery store, the public library, or the Main Street news stand.

@conradhackett the trick with Twitter is that it influences (influenced?) news coverage much more than, say, Facebook or YouTube. Journalists hang out on Twitter and get much of *their* news there, which has knock-on narrative effects in more mainstream coverage.
@conradhackett I think the takeaway from that is that Twitter is no where close to being the "public square" some think that it is.
@conradhackett interesting how Twitter has the largest proportion of users that use it for news
@conradhackett So, I guess that makes me the last person pulling news by RSS/Atom feeds?
@conradhackett Funny, that's predominantly why I used Twitter. I followed news orgs and journalists as a sort of catch-all RSS.
