Overte

@hapticmonkey interesting. How does this compare to any land?
@GamingDaveUK Well to be honest I have never used any land... what I can tell you is that Overte is an open source, Apache licensed, virtual world and social VR software platform for both VR and non-VR users. Do you have a URL so I an examine Open Land? I can take a look at it.

It's somewhat dated now. But has the best vr item creation system I have used.... both simplistic but also capable of a lot of complexity. The script system is a tad limited.

Anyland on Steam

Anyland is an open virtual reality universe to create your home, chat with others, explore & live in! Made from the ground up for VR, explorable via just PC & keyboard, and shaped by all of us together.

@GamingDaveUK Oh, that's interesting. The 3D quality is far superior for one thing. Overte is both a server and a user interface. Users can own their own domain servers and worlds. They have total control. Almost all of the worlds out there that are capable of VR are closed gardens. The scripting system is quite extensive and it looks like we will have visual scripting soon as well. Overte is a successor of High Fidelity, the platform created by Second Life founder Phillip Rosendale.
