Today’s poem is called ‘Lines Written While Waiting for a Train at a Provincial Railway Station’.
@brianbilston I was just in a provincial town last night with my phone dying twice! But I had a power bank with me, and the train I ended up on had sockets between the seats.
@AndrewShields Good for you. I always find that it’s in the moments when I most need a plug, that all the plug sockets disappear.
@brianbilston The German trains are pretty good about having sockets by now. They're just getting worse about being on time.
@AndrewShields That seems very unGerman-like.
@brianbilston Privatization, less investment in maintenance of trains and tracks, personnel shortages = trains not running, not arriving on time.
@AndrewShields Ah, sounds a familiar story.
@brianbilston Brilliant. When students in 2222 are taught about 2022 i history class, I hope they get assigned to read this poem.
@Edthedev Ha! I think the chances of that may be slim.

@brianbilston

My poen goes like this ...

"I'm getting better at getting older and will continue until the day I die."

The in between times, the waiting, the unoccupied hours, the pondering, are the best nests for creative writing.
