People who say #ElonMusk's selective disclosure of #Twitter internal docs "breathes new life into the #HunterBiden laptop story" miss the point. That's not the goal.

The goal is to inflate a different right-wing talking point, that "big tech is biased against conservatives". So Musk carries water for right-wingers who want to force tech companies to uncritically rebroadcast their propaganda AND he spins his Twitter acquisition as "essential to save 'free speech'."

That's what this is about.

@angusm
And like all Republican grifters, he doesn't care if there is no truth to what he is saying.
@angusm Why didn’t he release all the internal discussions concerning TFG and all of his and his family’s side dealings with foreign governments, especially Kushner’s back channel communications with the Saudi’s? Where are those???
@IrwinFletcher0 @angusm What about Bome saw paying Kushner 2 billion for the top secret documents?
@Tbsa @angusm Shhhh …. Don’t tell anyone about that 😉
@IrwinFletcher0 @angusm Another one of those inconvenient facts the cons want to ignore and or lie about. What else did jarrods father in law sell to our enemies?
@angusm Basically another version of Fox News talking points, misinformation etc.
@angusm You know Angus, I can't stop thinking about Musk's real motives. Is it Occam's Razor? If so, then Musk WANTS to dismantle and possibly destroy Twitter. But why? To weasel out of the stupid deal he cut to buy it? Or something more nefarious?
@KarenStrickholm @angusm how is that old saying? I forgot so forgive me the bad quoting. It's something like if stupidity explains it, don't look for more complex explanations (a version of Ockams razor, just a bit more cynical)
@davidfm @KarenStrickholm You're probably thinking of Hanlon's Razor: "never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity"
@angusm @KarenStrickholm YES! Thanks a lot, I had lost the reference long ago, and it's such a brilliant formulation
@angusm @davidfm That's cool but no, Occam's Razor is I believe meaning that all things considered equal, the most obvious simple explanation is usually the correct one. I didn't know there were other razors out there!🙏❤️

@angusm

The strategy is exactly aligned with the one directed at the press. That their voices are not given an equal chance to be heard. Straight out of the nazi playbook.

@angusm I'm sure the Senate hearings next year will flesh out all of this. Meanwhile, it's best to stop feeding the trolls.
@angusm This is all true but ultimately I think it's about Twitter is in the twatter and he's desperate to drive engagement so he doesn't waste his $44 billion. Remember, malignant narcissists are calculating people but they're also impulsive and not able to think ahead.
@Laces @angusm I still am of the belief that the $44 billion investment was not wholly Elon's alone, and that some or most of it was provided to him by Russia/PRC and possibly Saudi
@serialtwo_six @angusm
This is probably true. They're going to get their money's worth out of it too.

@Laces @angusm Yeah, I guess that would depend on what their slated objectives were in doing so.

They may have been primarily after data more than anything else, in which case they already got what they paid for.

It might also be for some future use that has not become apparent, yet.

@angusm Elon benefits most in #hunterbiden laptop story?

@angusm The goal is also to get his target audience to come to the same conclusion about the digital media space in general as they already have for legacy media- that it is out to get conservatives and nothing on it is to be trusted.

What this really does is shrink and cement the boundaries of the information bubble conservatives are currently living in even more; nothing else is 'real' because it is all being fabricated somehow by 'big Tech'.

@angusm With Musk as the Head Savior. What an ass.
