The most valuable lesson I learned at uni in the 70s was to always ask, "So what was *really* going on?" Now I see so much of Academia lost in group think for the sake of securing grants and tenure or else furthering specious political agendas rather than focusing on the pursuit of greater insights, wherever they may lead, even if it upsets a few comfy applecarts.
Forge on, sir, you're not alone. 🙂
