Premiering today at 6pm Central - Day 2 of my ride across Ohio on the Ohio-to-Erie Trail! I face detours, a 16% grade, and even a run-in with the police. Will I make it to London - over 80 miles from where I started?

It's been a long time coming - and, though this episode is fine, you'll see some technical challenges in the ones to follow. I've decided to release it anyway, one episode a week.

Behold: Premiering today at 1pm CDT, the first of the videos documenting my October ride across #Ohio on the #OTET - all 326 official miles! (525 km)

I've been out at the border of #Tulsa and #Bixby this morning, holding this two-sided sign saying, "You Are Loved."

In a world where many people only hear negative messages from churches, I wanted to ensure that our community also heard an uplifting one.

On this Valentine's Day, let us celebrate not only romantic love but also the divine love that embraces each and every one of us.

After discovering recently that an ounce today and an ounce in Ancient Rome are roughly equivalent (a Roman "Libra" is 12 "uncia", or about 11.6 ounces), I was inspired to dig into the history of currency and mathematical division. This isn't the sort of thing I usually write about - but it's been absolutely fascinating to learn!

Hello, friend humans! I need data from the hivemind:

Do you understand the word "wont" as used in "as was their wont" or "as one is wont to do."

Do you use the word "wont" in this way, or do you use a different phrase in speech and writing?

On Monday, I begin my ride across #Ohio, #cycling from #Cincinnati to #Cleveland - 326 miles - on the series of bike paths and back roads known as the Ohio-to-Erie Trail #OTET

Want to see what's going to be on the #bike, in addition to me? At noon today (central time), I'll be premiering the "Gearing Up" video on YouTube! Whether you chat live during the premiere, or leave a comment later, I appreciate hearing your thoughts.

If you have a bike #bell, what note does it ring? (same question for bike horns)

It turns out my bell is a G6. 🙂

Today I learned that the first-ever Yield sign was installed in #Tulsa in 1950.

Meanwhile, the first parking meter was installed in Oklahoma City in 1935.

Who knew that #Oklahoma was so interested in #traffic #safety?

Signs like this are setup where there is need for disruption – when traffic needs to stop for people, in an orderly sharing of the road and resources. But we often build walls instead of bridges, privileging drivers over pedestrians, even if unconsciously. That’s where disruption is most needed.

For God’s welcome is a grace and a blessing extended to us all. When society has built barriers, let us build crosswalks.
