1) We really like to measure and evaluate things on metrics in exactly the same way that have historically given us some semblance of accuracy in the past, even if they clearly don’t apply anymore…
2) I think everyone is less resilient than they were a year ago, and even more so when compared to the year before that…
3) I am not as young as I used to be, all nighters or prolonged stress hits harder and sooner than before. And it’s rate of change is not linear…
4) The weather is stranger than it used to be, or maybe we haven’t really been paying attention until more recently
5) ‘Steelmanning’ an argument is now a thing, it showed up in 2022 and seems to be sticking
6) Retconning non-fiction is becoming more prevalent and is no longer limited to just fiction
7) Relevant quote again: “A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals” - K, MIB. And I’ll add to this: Teams of individuals can be great, but mobs are *definitely* worse…
8) Don’t remember where it’s from but it connected: “Idealism without strength holds no power. Idealism with strength can sometimes overpower reality…”
9) With the advent of these new AI type tools, how efficiently a creator interacts with tools like chatGPT (writing), Stable Diffusion (visual arts), Copilot (code), etc. will likely play a key role in achieving success and rapidly creating new(-ish) things for people use/enjoy…
