My account has been approved by Post News. Compared to Mastodon I have low expectations.

My Post News experience so far:

- I click the email link to setup my account, which is deceptively disguised as a URL while in fact it's a tracking redirection service
- uBlock Origin blocks the tracking service, and I get to choose if I want to proceed anyway

@micahflee I finally got an account, and I’ll admit the design is definitely prettier than here, but I am still spending more time on mastodon. And no app. All browser based, which isn’t great on a phone.
@Bsharwood @micahflee I don't trust apps anyway, so generally still do my social networking via url even from my phone.
@Quantillion I used to be like that, then realised that apps are generally safer. Tracking cookies etc in a browser. For instance... The day after I deleted Facebook and Twitter apps and opened them both in my mobile browser... Facebook recommended people to follow that I only knew from Twitter
@euzie I've never had either in app format & deleted my FB account years ago. Suggested follows on Twitter are essentially people followed by those I follow myself. I've never clicked through them. (I also have most data-farming orgs – I mean, social networks – URL-blocked until & if I specifically need to visit one.) Several browser plugins do the job.
Also, I'll admit I've never got used to browsing on a tiny screen.😉 My phone is for phoning/messaging & listening to podcasts.
