My new cochlear implant device is amazing. I'm loving it. I think everything sounds better and the ability to connect through Bluetooth to tv, phone and computer s amazing. Currently watching Nope directed by Jordan Peele.
@JetChuckLeeChan very cool. Now, when you get a new one is it just new parts on the outside or has technology changed much over the years for the implanted parts? My tween daughter has had a friend since she was about seven or so who has one and admittedly I don't know a ton about the technology itself other than the basics.
@MarkSherrick it's a whole new device. I used the old device for 16 years lol. They stopped making parts for the old device so I had to get the newest device, the technology got better. Right now I can hear everything and I can change the setting to where it can be more focused and also gave a new setting where it adapts to sounds like noisy enviroment would be dimmed and close sounds will be elevated. I have accessories to make it water proof as well. So far it's top notch.
@JetChuckLeeChan wow, cool. I can definitely imagine the technology change in that period. Similar to non implanted ones I'd imagine. I know a few folks with those and some of those are amazing in what they can do.
