@feditips these are super helpful. I accidentally made an account on two servers when I first joined. Now I need to figure out how to decide which one to keep. Is there a good way? I can migrate (thank you for explaining that!).

@feditips I love what you do, and I had a read of the site, but I still wasn’t 100% clear one what a “Star” favourite bad and “Circular arrows” boost does. I mean, I kinda get it from trying things out for a week, but what does do both actually do, in the background, in the code base? For instance, no algorithm- so are favourites literally just shared with the poster to show them someone likes what they posted? And are boosts anything more than promoting a post to someone’s followers?

@feditips I can’t see alt text on Photos even when I put it there myself and I’m constantly seeing posts about how newbies are boosting posts without alt text. I’m using the Mastodon app on iOS and also I have Tootle and Mast. When I tap, the image opens alone, no alt text. When I long tap I get a context menu, no alt text.

@feditips I started running my own instance through a managed provider. I see posts from other servers like yours but the boost/fav counters don't come through. Any solution to that? Any good sources to follow for those managing their own server?

@feditips I feel trapped in invisibility here. My account has 0 followers, and Mastodon seems to have stopped the people I’m following at 17. I’m not one of those people who is obsessed with follower numbers, but I feel that on this site I’m relegated to be nothing but an audience member, not a participant. What does one do about that?

How can I see who you're following? I currently cannot see anything if I click on "Following", on your account (using Fedilab app). Would like to discover new accounts by seeing who's following the accounts I follow. It works only for very few accounts.
