Hot take on Pentiment...

This game throws you in really fast without explanation on the game mechanics or consequences. Some may enjoy the no-fluff approach, but I'd have liked at least some tiny guidance. Choices you make seem to have big implications very quickly.

I'm not sure I'm smart enough for this game. I feel like a solid education in medieval history would actually benefit me while playing this. My sixth grade history teacher would not be pleased.

@ddc0660 i went in totally blind (I'm through the first big chunk), and it's definitely friendin growing on me. Also: glossary :)

@Eenewton does the glossary and people directory actually matter at all or is it just for my own reference? If it's for my benefit I wish I could look at it _while_ I'm discussing one of these ancient topics...

@ddc0660 oooookay, yeah. You've got lots of stuff ahead. I would say - so far - the glossary hasn't been essential, but I may be more familiar with the medieval context. So far I would say it's only important in so far as it helps you understand people's drives / relationships sometimes.

One tip: just because it says "I need to go do X now" doesn't mean you can't explore. :)

@Eenewton I stuck with Pentiment and am very glad I did. I thought I was in for one type of game and it turned out to be another.

I don't want to say more since I don't know how far you've gotten, but I've definitely other the story along to the point that I'm hooked and will finish it.

@Eenewton I just finished act 1. I didn't know that it was going to go into another act, so it felt like I was windering up for the finale when, in fact, there's more!
