I still genuinely do not get why anyone would ever want to use brave

I get chrome, I get chromium, ungoogled chromium, firefox and the forks, vivaldi, whatever else, but brave??? it's literally the cryptobro capitalism homophobia browser. why would you use a browser where adware is A Feature. why would you Want That

@AgathaSorceress That's exactly the reason. They like the cryptobro part. The capitalism part. The homophobia. To stick to "the man" but the man in this case is "the bankers" "the queers" and so on.

@AgathaSorceress it’s actually pretty fast AFAIK. if not Firefox, I’d probably want an uncrypto’d Brave fork.

@lau @AgathaSorceress fun fact: I don't know if it still exists but there used to be a fork of Brave like that...... Except it was by Gab, and they basically replaced the crypto features with a Gab integration where you could comment on every site or some bs. Guess Brave attracts homophobes

@AgathaSorceress not sure I understand. I use brave exclusively and have NEVER used the crypto rewards portion of it. In actually memory test that I've run brave uses consistently less than chromium and loads pages faster. For me that is a compelling reason to use it.
