I'm a little surprised that people use GitHub Sponsors.

I'm contemplating setting up something like that for reasons I'll write about at some point later, and GH was such an obvious goto solution...

... until I started reading about VAT implications and my head exploded. Surely nobody can possibly be actually doing this correctly.

Patreon handles VAT for you AFAICT so maybe that's a better place to be, even w/higher fees and no contribution matching?
