What do you mean std::vector doesn't support uninitialized data
It’s funny how malloc is often simultaneously not great for small objects (<1kb) and bad for large allocations (>1mb). There’s probably a sweet spot in the couple hundred kb range where it’s perhaps alright?
After a loooong break (last time was in… 2014?) will be at upcoming SIGGRAPH!
look I know you just wanted to add two numbers but first we need to import the numeric tower abstraction from the standard library that doesn’t exist yet
just one more abstraction bro
just one more language bro I promise this one will solve all our problems
bro trust me Rust is memory safe but what if we made a language that’s MORE memory safe, like what if memory didn’t exist at all
just one more metaprogramming feature bro, what if macros could write macros that generate code that writes other macros?
what do you mean “just use Python”? bro this language has ZERO-COST ABSTRACTIONS and also zero documentation but that’s fine we’ll figure it out
@asb Chris is smart and very accomplished but IMHO in the Mojo marketing so far he's been his own worst enemy. He's owning up to the overselling but when I was listening to that podcast he was constantly talking about "everyone kept telling me it was impossible and couldn't be done", etc, and it makes it hard for anyone who isn't a douchebag to root for them (aside from all the AI cringe). It might appeal to people who are in the AI space, but then he can't expect other people to be receptive.
Rocks will be squeezed until the juice situation improves.
Tabs vs spaces would be a much more meaningful distinction if tab width could be fractional.
I love feature requests with negative response time.
