I just had the grinchy realization that I don’t actually love any Christmas movies. Some of them are… fine? Perfectly adequate? But I don’t think I’d make a point to snuggle down and watch any of them. And some of them are actively bad. I’m looking at you, A Christmas Story. #iSaidWhatISaid

@KevinFreitas Die Hard is a fun movie, though not sure I feel the need to watch it with any regularity. I like it! It’s fine! Just fine.

But also, don’t you think the annual chorus of “Die Hard is the best Christmas movie!” kinda proves that Christmas movies as a whole are just not that good? If you gotta reach for an action flick to top your list, it doesn’t exactly speak highly of the oeuvre.

Recent holiday seasons I’ve enjoyed “Elf” and “Klaus”, fwiw. The animation in the latter is pretty stunning and the story is a solid take on the origins of Santa.
