Crow as the Paper Chase Guy: "Look, I like you and all, but you're just an apocalypse thing."
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Trace's delivery, y'all.
Crow as the Paper Chase Guy: "Look, I like you and all, but you're just an apocalypse thing."
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Trace's delivery, y'all.
[end credits music comes to a stop]
[the words "for John" appear:
Joel: "John. This movie belongs in the John, because it's so bad, y'know..."
Crow and Servo: [laugh stupidly]
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I LOVE THAT :D
Warrior of the Lost World is done, but the 80s aren't done JUST yet! It's City Limits next on the MST3K Turkey Day Marathon!
OF COURSE the Bots would call for a rain of ping-pong balls on Joel!
Mike as Morrissey, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH :D
It's a hell of a takedown, and I'm all here for it.
Seeing James Earl Jones in an MST3K'd movie is every bit as surreal as seeing Gene Hackman and Gregory Peck in an MST3K'd movie (with Hackman and Peck in the same movie, too, Space Travelers)!
Gotta love Dr. Forrester's introduction to this movie: "James Earl Jones at a low point of his career and Kim Cattrall at a high point of her career."
The transcendent lyricist of our times, Crow T. Robot.
Can I just say how much I love this reference to the cover of a Far Side book?
Because I do.
This goofy-as-hell reference!
Yeah, sometimes the jokes could be a LITTLE dated...
THIS WRITING KILLS ME 😂
As does Trace's delivery as Crow!
Heh, perfect, that.
It's not just the joke, but how it's told. In combination with the surrealness of the scene, the effect is considerable.
god-tier reference to that one Treehouse of Horror episode of The Simpsons
Oh, indeed. That it is.
And on that gold stinger, it's time to bid adieu to City Limits!
Up next is Parts: The Clonus Horror, where the Neil Diamond references are comin' to America... TODAY!
HEADCANON: it's the mustache that made Eddie Nelson in Time Chasers such an utter bastard.
Dorf Goes Riffing
Also, Pearl cosmically jinxes herself into becoming a grandmother somehow.
A short summary of this series:
[back from lunch break]
I will always and forever be here for the gratuitous Super Mario jokes on this show, including but not limited to Mike humming the underground theme.
I mean, this is wrong, but it's not incorrect.
Crow: "Tom Jones here."
IT'S NOT UNUSUAL TO SHARE RIFFS WITH ANYONE
loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool
Like, NO ONE caught this juxtaposition in post-production. Geez.
Observer: "I took the liberty of making some fruit leather."
Pearl: "What the hell is fr-"
Space Kids: "FRUIT LEATHER!!! FRUIT LEATHERRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!"
lmaooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
¡ROMPELO!
THAT MAN IS PLAYING GALAGA
Thought we wouldn't notice... but we did.
Crow: "I thought it was skin cream, but it was Elmer's Glue."
Honestly, who among us HAVEN'T made that mistake?
Parts: The Clonus Horror is a surprisingly headdy movie for an MST3K episode.
I want you to appreciate how much it pains me to admit that.
The classics never go out of fashion.
Damn. That ending.
But onto lighter and brighter things! The end of Parts: The Clonus Horror means that there's just one episode left in the MST3K Turkey Day Marathon lineup, and that's my second favorite episode of all time (behind only Jack Frost), which is Mitchell!
LET'S GO!
It's SURGICALLY ENHANCED Mitchell, too. Hoo boy.
Well... [rolls up sleeves]
IT'S GO TIME
I remember watching this on Rhino VHS for the first time, and with only a very few MST3K episodes under my belt.
It felt so odd to bid farewell to an era that I haven't really gotten to know by that point.
A NEW B-MOVIE CHALLENGER APPEARS
[best read in Billy Dee Williams' voice]
I want to contribute to a Kickstarter to degrade the visual quality of this movie.
Um... eww.
This Surgically Enhanced print makes Joe Don Baker look like Peter Frampton. Not quite sure what THAT'S about.
I'm just going to smudge my glasses to compensate for the print's greater visual clarity.
LMAOAOAOAOAOAOAOAOAOAOAOAOAOAO
Holy crap... it just occurred to me...
... with this surgically enhanced print of the movie, we really DID get more volume on that jacket!
BUCKLE UP, IT'S THIS SCENE IN SURGICALLY ENHANCED QUALITY
Crow: "Word on the street is you're a jerk!"
Same, Servo, same.
A massive laugh, each and every time.
Crow's Edward G. Robinson impression forever.
That's our Mitchell!
[salutes]
And aloha to Mitchell, and aloha to the concluding feature of the 2022 MST3K Turkey Day Marathon, the Season 13 short Sleep for Health, riffed on by Joel, too, no less!
Kid: "I'm almost through with this chapter, Mother."
Joel: "Oh yeah, THERE'S Waldo!"
And with that short, yet one more MST3K Turkey Day Marathon comes to a close!
I really appreciate you folks going along with me on this journey and putting up with my toots (ha) and musings about my favorite show ever and the Turkey Day tradition that surrounds it.
Fingers crossed, my modem will work next year and I'll be here to do this all over again once again!
Cheers, folks, and all the best!
