Weird that all the remaining scientists who are still actively posting in Twitter are mostly non-US 😬

I think I will try to a bit more aware about how Twitter algorithm works and make it like Mastodon here somehow.

After a more thorough investigation: I used a Twitter List to follow my academic/science friends in #ConservationGenetics and it actually works like Mastodon feed! No "recommendations" from people I follow or anything like that. What people like does not show. Just retweets and original tweets!

The home feed is trashy as usual because it prioritise showing highly-engaged topics I do not wish to engage.

@sagitaninta Mastodon lists also have the weird property that you can't add people to them without following. A safety feature, I suppose; but it does make lists a lot less useful.
