So if I did want to buy a book in ePub without DRM, knowing the publisher published them (O'Reilly for instance) where would I go, from UK?

If I buy them off Google Play can I download the ePub?

(And no need to tell me about No Starch, yes if what I want is theirs I'm going straight to source, obvs.)

At least it looks like Play Books allows the Digital Edition download, so it might be a bit of an inept style of work.
Okay that might not work because Google Play Books is _broken._ It redirects me to the "How to download books" page when I ask it to download the Digital Editions file.
@flameeyes Zlib and then send the author a check. F the publisher, you don't print an ebook

@neonfire The stuff I'm looking for has editors and a number of other staff behind, not just an author. And I know how important they are to a good result.

Also, I don't support hypocrisy. I might resort to that if I can't find a forking way to download it from Google Play Books _after_ I paid.

@flameeyes so pay them too, just cut out the middle men. Bands always preferred I pirated their music and then bought a Tshirt instead as they actually get that money.
@neonfire a) this is much harder to do than you make it sound b) there's a significant difference between the music industry and book authors.
@flameeyes neither get paid what they're worth, so there's less difference than you think.
@neonfire I'm afraid that if that's the way you think, you're talking to the wrong person.
@flameeyes why? Is your dad Bill O'Reilly?
