Hi...here I am. Wearing my #smallbusiness hat. One of the many forgotten/lesser noticed small businesses today on #SmallBusinessSaturday. That is because I am a sole practitioner without a bricks and mortar business.

I have no animosity towards those small businesses who will get much deserved and needed attention today. If you follow me on social media, through my events, through what I write, these are the businesses I collaborate with and support. Not many highlight the challenges of being small in various business silos increasingly controlled by ever-growing huge entities more than I do. I get it...I am actually a small(er) business than most of the ones I champion.

But as someone who independently writes, runs events, consults, I am likely not to show up on anyone's "support these small businesses" lists today. So, remember please those similar to me -- the independents, the freelancers, the not easily defined. We are the smallest and least seen of the small businesses.

@thegrapesunwrapped I am equally small as a business.
@Lizgabay I know my comments resonate since I know many here in this sphere are.
@thegrapesunwrapped @Lizgabay Absolutely! Me too.
@simonjwoolf @Lizgabay a worthy roll call!
@thegrapesunwrapped @simonjwoolf @Lizgabay For me, "business" rather overstates the case! 😜
@megmaker @thegrapesunwrapped @simonjwoolf well - it's not a hobby...
@Lizgabay @thegrapesunwrapped @simonjwoolf True, I take it seriously and even volunteer for the profession. But I've never had the wits, I guess, to make much of a living off this expertise.
@megmaker @Lizgabay @thegrapesunwrapped @simonjwoolf I haven't had clients since covid and then the Russian War in Ukraine. Nobody is coming to Georgia. So I have business technically but have had to do other wine related things for money to stay afloat.
