Tweet Delete is set, lock is on, gonna let my Twitter account die. I’m sorry to not be there to boost all the #1u folks and journalists I love and I’m sorry I won’t see emergency GoFundMe calls anymore. But I don’t want to participate in that hateful man’s business anymore.
@whitneycwimbish I have been considering this, a few people I know have, but wanted to see what you thought about leaving an empty shell, for security, suggested in these articles? https://lifehacker.com/dont-delete-your-twitter-account-do-this-instead-1849779710 https://www.forbes.com/sites/daveywinder/2022/11/25/twitter-users-warned-not-to-delete-their-accounts-heres-why
Don't Delete Your X Account (Do This Instead)

It's temping to delete your X account now that things have gotten so bad. However, it's not the best move for your security.

@MarkDilley Hi Mark, thank you for sharing those — that is just what I had in mind. Leaving an empty shell, like you said, seems like the best option. What are you planning on doing?
@whitneycwimbish I have definitely given way less energy there and almost ready to be done... so admire that you are.
