So basically we’re just waiting for a phone app that can consolidate Mastodon, Hive, and Post accounts into one interface, right?
@RSchooley that’s the future the fediverse model promises, but would post and hive prefer a walled garden approach like Facebook and Twitter to maximize engagement and profits? That’s the question we don’t have good answers to about the funders’ real priorities
@RSchooley it would seem so. I just loved the people I followed on Twitter and have to go back there until they move. Between Post and this site I’m slowly losing what little of a mind I have left.

@RSchooley well.. No.

Imho:
Mastodon's Fediverse.
The other things are whatever they are. Different networks, different audiences (obviously).
Mastodon≠Twitter≠hive≠whatever

OK, they *could* implement ActivityPub and then it's up to the instances and users to federate or block depending on the others' development and directions.

@RSchooley I'd pay good money for that
@RSchooley one more: I need Substack to not require email alerts as a subscriber. Just hit me with the dope straight in the app.
@polisci @RSchooley yes! I’m kind of hoping that in time maybe they’ll have an app, that said, I can see that not being a goal. All sorts of content moderation is generally necessary for a proper app to be developed and listed, which adds costs.
@kerouac666 @RSchooley There is a Substack app but it still requires that all of the subscriptions send email notifications for each new post in order to stay subscribed.
@RSchooley either way it's good to see you again man.
@RSchooley That was my prediction but we know Twitter won’t share its API so it will eventually be the Betamax of Social Media.
(Note: Post. has become my first choice when I pick up my phone)

@RSchooley
I just laughed at your shopping mall tweet on the bird site.
Thank you for the comic relief.😂

I just followed you here to comment (hopefully avoiding some unwanted troll interactions under your tweet back there).

@RSchooley something I have been wondering about — could someone build (possibly for profit) some kind of fediverse instance that offers additional features and scoop up a bunch of users from other sites who aren’t currently interested in switching now? I don’t know what the features would be, just curious if that would be technically possible.
@RSchooley
I just want something where i can view a few different local feeds in mastodon - helpful in either choosing a new instance or just visiting rather specific ones I'm interested in but don't want to join because I'm not going to adhere to the specificity all the time.
