@Lynda @QasimRashid - not too worried about it. I just signed up to wait today. I waited about 3 weeks to join Ravelry (a community for knitters & crocheters) in 2007. I'll manage!

@QasimRashid it would be nice if you followed back some of your followers ( doesn’t have to be me). This isn’t Twitter. Engagement is important. Ego’s are left at the door and conversations are encouraged. We have two ears and one mouth for a reason. Im going to take a pun.

@danidictates I am following people slowly but surely. It's not an ego thing as I've not even been here a month. I reply to people to stay engaged (as you can see) and I'll follow more as I feel more comfortable. e.g. I'm hopeful you don't have to worry about security and death threats from social media—unfortunately I do and need to act accordingly. Grateful if you can afford me that space to manage on my own. Thank you again for the engagement.

@QasimRashid appreciate you taking the time to respond. Of course when I saw your 18k followers and you’re only following 6 people back, this just simply mirrored everything wrong with the bird site. What I’ve experienced here in my 2 weeks is something far more meaningful & has the potential to be far more effective because we’re not being driven to topics pre decided. Enjoy what social media was designed to be 😊

I am expecting there to be an influx of Trolls here, as people leave Twitter, but I know Mastodon has the right values and will kick out the Trolls.
