I absolutely agree. If anything has come out of the #EAInquiry it's that the #EmergenciesAct was entirely necessary.

@chad

The EA was absolutely necessary!

I used to live in the red zone for 15 years. I still have friends who live in the red zone who were impacted by the occupationists. The noise and diesel fumes were unbearable. People were unable to sleep for weeks, not just because of the noise but also because they concerned their home or building could accidentally/purposely be set on fire.

@chad You've just proven why this is the correct instance for me....

@chad As someone living in Ottawa, I've always said that the #EmergenciesAct shouldn't have been necessary. However, with what happened, it ended up being the ONLY solution to end all of it and I'm so thankful that he called it.

It was so many weeks of anxiety and fear living near downtown.

@chad I completely agree. I don't see there was any other solution than the #EmergenciesAct , unfortunately. I live in Ottawa, know people who had to leave their home in the red zone during the occupation, and followed along with the #EAInquiry every day. I felt such relief when the feds stepped up to clear it. I can't see me ever truly forgiving Ottawa police or Ontario leadership for inaction.
