Rightwingers Attack Veteran Who Tackled Club Q Shooter, Just Because He Was At A Gay Club

"They’re straight up villainizing a combat vet for stopping a mass shooting"

God

@godpod and the shooter's father expressed relief that whilst his son was at the gay club he isn't gay, just a murderer.

Nothing makes even the slightest sense

@EmmaDingle @godpod But it does make sense, they are not good people.
@joon @godpod but the reason they are like this is because they truly believe with every inch of their being that they are the "good ones" fighting against "evil". "Evil" being the rest of us.
@EmmaDingle @joon @godpod I honestly sometimes wonder. I think they genuinely know they are rotten bastards but just don’t care.
@tsumami @joon @godpod there's definitely some folk who simply enjoy chaos, others think joy is finite so if you're happy they think they're losing and therefore must do something to stop it. Humans are fricking bizarre
@tsumami @EmmaDingle @joon @godpod it also gives them an unbelievable superiority rush; I know this because my brother is a far-right Mormon and he honestly treats the rest of us like idiots and trash. (He couldn’t even be bothered to call our mom for two months, until she eventually called him for Thanksgiving the other day. He and I used to be close, but when I refused to convert, BOOM!
@macgowans @tsumami @joon @godpod
I know of one British evangelical someone I used to work with. We get on very well in the work environment, but when we get to talking about beliefs or queer people it quickly diverges as they are so confident and unshaking in their beliefs of what is right and wrong (cos their bible says so) it's quite unnerving.
