Is there talk about changing the terminology from
•whitelist/blacklist to
•inclusion list/exclusion list or
•in list/out list?

This seems like one of those structural changes that could have meaning as we discuss things like this. We don't have to keep reinforcing to society that a white list is a good list and a black list is a bad list... or that we believe those ideas... or that we want to reinforce them. Each use reinforces.

@NurseTonyF I'm a tech writer (enterprise software - huge platform - many many writers) and at my company we excised those terms from the docs a couple of years ago for this very reason. We use allow list/deny list.

I just found this on the instance I'm on:

"Moderated servers

Mastodon generally allows you to view content from and interact with users from any other server in the fediverse. These are the exceptions that have been made on this particular server."
