@lolennui thank you so much; I believe visualising Bart Simpson on his skateboard will make "I don't know" much easier to me! No more an ignoring looser but an ignoring badass! 😎
@lolennui oh yes, is one of my basic principles: opinions should be based on diligent gathering of knowledge and careful consideration. Otherwise just refrain from having one. Also, there's no shame in changing them.
@lolennui howard stern has a funny bit where he interviews people in the street and asks them to comment on a totally made up story. "do you have any comment on the jews decision to purchase the moon?" and without fail, they always have a deep comment on the matter. "well i think the jews should share the moon with others and..."
@lolennui the skateboarding away part is crucial. Otherwise someone tries to "educate" you. By which I mean, tell you their opinion and why it is 100% right.
@lolennui Used to know a woman who had her own version of Winter Wonderland, one of the best I ever heard: Sleigh bells ring, tits are jigglin’ In the lane my ass is wigglin’
@lolennui One of my favorite phrases is "I don't really have an opinion on that." And I am bemused by how much this shocks other people. If I don't have the data to be informed, or I don't have an instinctive emotional reaction, I can't really form a sound opinion on something. And that's OK - I'm fine with saying "I don't know."
