I have a big butt and I cannot lie! 😂

3 water butts fitted. I was doing so well until it got to cutting the down pipe to fit the diverted kit. I got nervous about stuffing it up, so called my dad!

(awaiting the Mastodon response as when I posted on t’other place about having put together my compost bins I got abuse from someone I didn’t follow about them being plastic & told I was ‘virtue signalling’! FYI the bins and water butts are all 100% recycled plastic!) #gardening #DroughtProofing

@matt I’m glad I called him as it turned out my die pipe was older and not a standard size so we had to rig up a fix on the diverter kit. Once we had that figured out it was easy. Butts are full now after all the rain we’ve had.

@lilmsmally I might get some next year. Some of my houseplants need non-tap water. Currently relying on leaving a few jugs outside to catch some drops!

@matt worth looking on local council website for links to subsided deals, your water company may also do offers. I got mine on a 2 for 1 deal that way.
