Morning all!

Just a quick #Bylines update. We're bringing all the publications of the #BylinesNetwork onto Mastodon. Some have 1,000s of followers already.

However, we're still playing around with how best to configure them to deliver their news articles in a good looking way.

-- and while we're at it, if you want to see all the Bylines (and Byline Times) articles in one place - we have an app for that!

Here the link for iOS & Android downloads --> https://bylinesnetwork.co.uk/abouttheapp/

About the app - Bylines Network

Pulling together all the publications of the Bylines Network of regional publications, plus Byline TV videos and Byline Times articles.

Bylines Network
@mikegalsworthy Hey Mike, have you considered setting up a Bylines Mastodon server?
@PaulRayski @mikegalsworthy I think that would be an excellent idea. @beasts are a good bunch, and are offering hosting of dedicated instances for organisations.

@ilmari @PaulRayski @beasts

Oh really? We're just looking into setting up server/instance - so I'd be fascinated to hear more...

Just read it. Very cool. Although a lot of the technical bits over my head. Love the idea of a Raspberry Pi rack for it!

So... what's the cost? Specifically, if you only wanted to host a dozen active accounts on it?

@mikegalsworthy @ilmari @PaulRayski @RaspberryPi mail [email protected] if you want a fully managed instance (i.e. we read and do all the technical bits for you!).
@PaulRayski Yup! We had a meeting on it yesterday - and we'll be experimenting with setting one up. Just for our own channels/publications and see how that goes.
@mikegalsworthy The Bylines app is great. Would thoroughly recommend it.
@mikegalsworthy downloded and browsing away. Thanks for the tip!
@IAmDavid Hope you like it! Leave a nice review if you do!
@mikegalsworthy can you tell me, please, how to find the East Anglian Bylines
