@StevenBeschloss What a contrast to the 1966 NAS White Paper: Accidental Death and Disability: The Neglected Disease of Modern Society, which resulted in creating NHTSA, engineering changes to highways, traffic flow, vehicles; $ for EMT training & trauma care, driving safety programs, etc. Unnecessary vehicle deaths were treated as a public health problem & reduction in fatalities/critical injuries was significant. ALL gun deaths are preventable.

@StevenBeschloss I have a subscription to the SZ (Süddeutsche Zeitung) and they pointed out that for the past 2 years it has been over 600 mass casualty events per year. If any American news sources have reported that fact I am unaware, as I usually stick with European sources for news.

@StevenBeschloss I was so dumbfounded when I saw that number, 800, that I just had to look it up. According to Google, the number thus far is only 600, 𝑜𝑛𝑙𝑦 600, yeah, that's not much better, in fact it's insane.

@StevenBeschloss I really enjoy the fact that we are no where near a “Sane World” but, what is up with all of this completely random random death? When I think of population control, I never want to think “Mass shootings”. Unfortunately, you kind of HAVE to add them in that pot.
