I am readying my coming night shifts by restarting TV series Fringe, which I was hooked on ever since episode one. It was like The X-Files, but with science instead of aliens.
And we all know science is waaaay spookier.

Lead character Oliva Dunham is kick-ass and her two sidekicks are pleasurable as well, with a good balance of weirdness and nerdness next to the yucky and creepy stuff.

#ReWatch #Fringe

@hamsterhuey I loved Fringe! I felt like the first season was the most X-Files. And I didn’t care for it. But then I revisited the show and every subsequent season got better and better, eventually carving out it’s own mythology and story.

And, in retrospect, after watching all 5 seasons, the 1st season laid the groundwork for some of the later seasons. It was really tightly written show. I miss it.

@eatthelove Me too! Because it's such a good show I am rewatching it again atm. Such a joy.

What other series do you love watching?

@hamsterhuey what other shows have you watched that you love?

@eatthelove Carnivale, Continuum, Foundation, Game Of Thrones (except the last season), Heroes (loooved the 1st season), Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, Mr Robot, Outer Range, Penny Dreadful (first series), The Sandman, The Expanse, Westworld, Babylon Berlin, Heartstopper, The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, the 1995 Pride & Prejudice, Pushing Daisies, Our Flag Means Death, Sex Education, The Peripheral.

Amongst others. There is a whole list of Costume Drama, besides P&P and Penny Dreadful.

@hamsterhuey I’ll be honest that I loved the first season of Heroes but I could watch any subsequent seasons. I think I gave up halfway through season 2.

I ABSOLUTELY love Our Flag Means Death! I’m so glad with the HBO/Discovery merger that it still got a renewal for season 2.

Pushing Daisies is also one of my absolute favorites though! Have you seen Wonderfalls?

@eatthelove Wonderfalls is on my list. I think my fiancee will love it as well, though, so I am keeping that to watch together.

@hamsterhuey so I absolutely loved Wonderfalls when it came out. It’s by Bryan Fuller. So the same sensibility as Pushing Daisies, though a little less whimsical and hyper real.

I will say the lead character is pretty Xennial. I loved her but some folks didn’t care for her as much. But I really enjoyed it. Plus I’m a big fan of Lee Pace. He’s the brother. Actually the whole cast is charming.

@eatthelove Pace was actually the reason I watched Daisies and Fuller the reason I watched and ADORE Hannibal. Still one of my favest series EVER.

@hamsterhuey oh yes! He’s great. And I loved Hannibal, but it got a little too dark for us. We ended up not watching the last season. We should really go back and watch it!

The lead of Wonderfalls is the actor who plays Dr. Alana Bloom in Hannibal. She was a TOTALLY different character in Wonderfalls. It’s was a little startling to see her in Hannibal actually. But it just showed how much range she has.

I’m a big fan of Bryan Fuller as well.
