LinkedIn galaxy brain types are even more of a mess than before, they’re all falling over themselves to say they’re firing people and mandating strict back to office policies because Space Karen inspired them.

Honestly glad for this moment in time: to have a public record of all of the people you should never work with.

There is a certain founder / ‘here to help’ type that is very clearly the sort of person who isn’t going to be very much help, but they do specialize in LinkedIn humblebragging, and Space Karen boot licking
@skinnylatte Ma’am, you just make me smile.
@skinnylatte what a shit show
@printtemps @skinnylatte there's another new social network a very specific group of people is promoting and I clicked through to see what it was about and it asks for your LinkedIn ID and I immediately left it forever.
@skinnylatte @lmc @printtemps I had the same thought when I went to the signup page. Also, they want your twitter and linkedin in order to just if you’re a “good fit” and I can’t think of any other website I’ve signed up for where they wanted to see my social media posts.
@skinnylatte does your business even have the right grindset if you don’t have a loan with interest payments in excess of US$1bn per annum?
@daveparry it’s 32D chess, apparently /s
@skinnylatte all companies are just glad that in this job market they call the shots. And they are all making up fancy justifications for each of their related decisions.
@sandipb there’s that. There’s also an incredible amount of hero worship for abusive people.
@skinnylatte yeah, the standard powerless people coveting power love to be power adjacent
@skinnylatte @Binder This won’t be forgotten. Organizing is happening everywhere.
@skinnylatte Cargo Cult management. Like when Steve Jobs was abusive to employees, therefore the wannabees figured all they had to do was be abusive to their employees to be a billionaire.
@skinnylatte I love it that Emerald Mine Space Karen is his new official name
@skinnylatte On one hand, I'd love to have an Excel file of those types. On the other, I'd prefer to never look at LinkedIn again. Sometimes I wonder why I have a hard time finding jobs, and then I look at LinkedIn and see that who knows what percent of recruiters are active posters in that echo chamber of management speak and overwork culture. I wish Space Karen had crashed that site instead, if only so that my uni career centre stops bothering me to update my profile there
@skinnylatte I would think that not working for anyone who posts regularly on LinkedIn is probably as good a place to start as any???
@skinnylatte it might be handy to have a db of these people.
@skinnylatte maybe they could be "endorsed" for these special skills? :)
