"Systems people rarely blame people for things. They blame systems. The fact that people act in certain perverse ways that produce results that no one wants is not usually (there are exceptions) the fault of the people. They're the rational behave behavior of people in the
system and the question is what's wrong with the system? not what's wrong with the people in it?" (#DonellaMeadows)

A good reminder to focus on learning more about the systems when studying incidents #LFI

Wanna change a system? Change goals/purpose or relationships/interconnections. Changing elements or attempting to change behavior rarely makes a difference. #DonellaMeadows
These #SystemsThinking ideas are at least 50 years old and still today we often focus on changing elements and behavior when wanting to change a system. More policy, stricter procedures, training or re-training is probably not going to do much. Still we try.
“Growth is the first driving factor of unsustainable behavior. Second is technology. Third is the market. These three things, we are taught by our culture, are going to save us. I just want to be very clear: That is what I am saying” 🌶️ 🌶️ #DonellaMeadows

"Growth is one of the stupidest purposes ever invented by any culture. We got to have an enough” #DonellaMeadows #SystemsThinking

You should ask: Growth of what? And why? And for who? And who pays the cost? And how long can it last? And what’s the cost to the planet? And how much is enough?
