#hive is a joke
Sedunker@xenova I’m more than a little dismayed at all the authors and creatives I follow from the bird site who have been joining Hive as an alternative, because they like the interface better than other sites. If you listed all the pros and cons of every site in terms of handling a large influx of new users, it has the LEAST going for it. Why do people tend to pick the WORST possible option?
@Sedunker We could definitely use a study as to what makes people gravitate towards certain platforms
I think for Hive specifically it's that they've done a good enough job pandering to the masses by being similar to twitter while enforcing bans on polarizing figures, which is the opposite of what Elon is doing
Of course, it would be ideal if people did research and looked into the platform's issues first, but that's clearly not what happened judging by the fact that Hive has reached a million users
