Needed some pictures to illustrate a semi-serious presentation, so I finally gave Dall-E 2 a shot, and what can I say, the Hacker Cats of Dall-E are quite good.
@hacksilon now i have to buy a hoodie for my cat too 😻
@hacksilon these are the best hacker cats I have ever seen! Do you think it is problematic that they are not protected by copyright?
@xchatty I think it’s actually refreshing not to have to worry about copyright (although I assume that OpenAI asserts some rights based on them being the ones that operate the service - but at the moment they grant all rights to the users, as far as I know). Since the pictures are quite small, they are more or less impossible to use for anything serious commercial either way.

Hacker cats are missing Club Mate for realism

Great result. What was your prompt?
@b6z β€ža photo of a cat wearing a hoodie sitting in front of a computer with terminals openβ€œ for the first one.
@hacksilon I only see grey squares, then gradient images, and finally black.
Are the cats hacking my mastodon client?
@hacksilon
Great idea! I did some experiments of my own, inspired by yours, but with a #siameseCat as those are my favourites. Turned out really well! 😁 Gonna use one as profile pic somewhere πŸ˜… #aiArt
@hacksilon this is the Best Thing i eve saw on dall-e 2 so far and i dont think it can get any better!
@hacksilon Obligatory: "Prompt?!!!!1111eleven!"
@dfyx "a photo of a cat wearing a hoodie sitting in front of a computer with terminals open" for the first one, "a photo of a cat wearing a hoodie hacking computers" for the second. And the interpretation of Dall-E implies a lot of interesting things about the model, starting from the "in front of a computer" and ending with their interpretation of "hacking". :)
@hacksilon Tried to replicate the same prompt with Stable Diffusion. V1.5 doesn't quite get the hoodie part, AnythingV3 has a sliiiightly different understanding of what a cat is and BerryMix actually yields something cute
@dfyx these are all great 😍
@hacksilon I need a full TV series about the hacker cats, please.
@hacksilon
Oh yes. Wow. Definitely going to do something like that for my next preso. πŸ˜‚
@xssfox
@hacksilon Stolen and posted to various forums without attrimewtion
@tprophet aww :(. Well, Iβ€˜m happy if the pictures make people happy, and Iβ€˜m not planning to do anything with them myself, so I don’t mind too much, although it’s sad that people can’t get attribution right in 2022.
@hacksilon They're being used for good, I promise! :)
@tprophet that is a completely appropriate use, yes 😍
@hacksilon incredibly helpful information, excellent work! now I'm off to Dalle2 to try my hand! This is what I needed today πŸ˜ΈπŸ’»
@Wurmpurrrella Great, please Share 😊. As a starting point, I described my prompts here: https://infosec.exchange/@hacksilon/109381100267138539
