I have an extreme Thanksgiving food hot take. Here we go.

"You don’t need to make a pumpkin pie from scratch this Thanksgiving.

Actually, you don’t need to make a pumpkin pie, ever."

You Do Not Need to Make a Pumpkin Pie From Scratch. Ever.

I need to tell you something. Something very important. Are you sitting down? It’s not strictly necessary. You can stand if you want. Do you need a pen? I guess you don’t need one of those, either. This isn’t a particularly long message. Are you ready? Okay. You don’t need to make a pumpkin pie…

The Everywhereist
@everywhereist This is, indeed, how I feel about pumpkin pie. Thank you.
@everywhereist yah meh. Mostly agreed (I still make it since the 2nd half likes it but definitely not from scratch). There’s far superior pie out there. For a big event I love making Banoffee!

@everywhereist Not only that, but instant mashed potatoes and instant stuffing are perfectly fine. Does your grandmother make better versions of both? Sure. But it's okay to save a little time here and there if the end result is still delicious.

Also, no one's fancy homemade cranberry sauce is better than the kind from the can.

@jclayton Sorry, no, now you've gone too far. 😅
@everywhereist boooooo! I'd rather skip the Turkey. But sweet potato pie, the unwanted lesser cousin of pumpkin? Yeah, should actually be banned.
@everywhereist yes, but. Actually, no buts. I am picking up a "client appreciation" free pumpkin pie tomorrow which might convince my better half from making one at home. Who needs it?
@everywhereist ok but I need a socially acceptable way to escort whipped cream into my mouth and pumpkin pie was always discreet about it.
