Does the appointment of a special counsel in the Trump cases mean justice denied? Merrick Garland’s appointment of Jack Smith is hardly comforting.

@jentaub i think this is the right thing for them to do. Garland is at the end of the day a political appointee, and any investigation that he undertakes will inevitably be associated with Biden's administration and politics. This allows them to try to put some distance between the two.
