Hey everyone, it appears there are now at least 8 members of congress on Mastodon and I see our first committee.

I've confirmed 5 accounts and am waiting for a response from the other 3.

If you see folks I'm missing, please let me know.

Update: we now have the first committee confirmed. Welcome @housebudgetdems
@danielschuman these folks should verify themselves... (do the green link thing...)
@danielschuman @housebudgetdems Feels like the House/Senate should make their own instances for members / committee official presence.
@marcoshuerta @housebudgetdems I agree with you. I’m not sure if it is the house or senate or whether there should be a broader instance managed by GPO or the Library to include non-political entities
@danielschuman @housebudgetdems what would be the process by which the house, senate, executive branch, etc, or some other breakdown could each make their own server? I think that would help with verification
