This was a very hard coin to come by. Somehow managed to get 2. Giving away one of them instead of selling it on eBay for >$400 like some have.

@finneh Good on you! Even moreso if you know a veteran to give it to.
I've been really disappointed with the hype over these, and i think especially of the veterans, who might have wanted one to honour their fallen mates, and the reason they can't get one is not even because they're snapped up by collectors like us, but greedy scalpers just out to make a quick buck.

@CoinOfNote I’m happy to give away any coin for a good cause or reason.

I’m totally disgusted by the state of eBay for Aussie coins as of late.
People are selling 1988 $2 coins (190mil mintage) as a “rare” coin and it’s genuinely sold for $10,000.

I actually feel sorry for the poor guys who spend that much on a coin you could find in change almost instantly after starting to look for one.

@finneh definitely. You'd have to look at "sold"items to see if anyone has actually paid that, but the fact people are asking that is bad. I've been upset by both the Royal Australian Mint and Australia Post for how they've handled recent releases. Not new behaviour of course, but it's only the scalpers who win out of it.

@CoinOfNote screenshot I posted was of a sold coin 😬💀

I agree as well, especially the Nov 3 release. I don’t think it should’ve been a limited mintage of 60,000. Definitely shouldve been similar to the Vegemite coins with an “unlimited” mintage

@finneh
Ah sorry I missed that it was sold, that is sad that someone got duped so badly. And yes no reason for the remembrance coin to be limited. Sure, have a special mintmark limited one, but otherwise have at least as many as get ordered in say November
