If a character is currently a very mobile fungus, what health concerns about sex would be reasonable? I'm thinking fungal infections, pregnancy … maybe something about tissue strength and tearing?

@kalany hm. pregnancy seems least likely here, but this is The World Airplane Built, so maybe not. Maybe sporing when he cums? Spores could be anything from amusing to cough inducing to some sort of offspring.

@kalany I see: what would *he* be concerned about! well, he could be afraid of being eaten! (I mean, he knows lots of beasts with odd dietary needs I'm sure, and mushrooms are a thing humans eat.) Hm... I don't think I actually know enough about fungus to be helpful. Non-sex related, does he need to be, like buried? Or be fed decomposing matter? I don't know, but I'm sure he doesn't either!

@kalany I guess, depending on how much of a peril you *want* this to be, you could say that it will only develop in a receptive environment, and then you decide what a receptive environment is.

@Betty canonically, nobody has gotten this fungus to grow in several hundred years, so I have some limits on the possibilities, lol. (It *is* an AU, so I could change them, I suppose.) My plan is for them to discover that it has a two-stage reproductive cycle, one of which inhabits high-altitude bamboo. It's not 100% accurate to fungi, but it's close enough that "magic!" mostly handles the discrepancies. 😅
