they put a christmas sweater on the t-rex at the national history museum in london and it's ridiculous and adorable
@programmablecat wait a minute, that's not a Jurassic Christmas jumper pattern!
@MrAmaimon @programmablecat that looks like a stegosaurus near the top. So a Cretaceous dinosaur wearing a Jurassic dinosaur. At least it's not the other way round...

@warren_oates @MrAmaimon @programmablecat I noticed this as well. Clearly the Tyrannosaurus considers the stegosaurus "ugly" for the purposes of "Ugly Christmas Sweaters", periods be damned.

All that remains for paleontologists to understand is the methods used for donning and doffing of the sweater :)

@Verveonica @MrAmaimon @programmablecat surely also how a T-rex knows what a stegosaurus looks like!

@warren_oates @MrAmaimon @programmablecat there just may be some mysteries of the past we'll never be satisfied in answering:

A. How a T-Rex 🦖 knows what a Stegosaur looks like,
B. How theropods managed complex intarsia #knitting
C. Whether they engaged in other #fiberarts
D. Why Bob Ross never painted them against a tiny forest cabin

#paleontology is full of these ? with clear intersections to many other arts and sciences

:P

@Verveonica little known fact that T. rex had a cabal of troodontid knitters paid on retainer for just this kind of thing.
@FossilsFiction my anthropocene mind is blown!
