Jim#ottbike is it normal for a crack all the way around the sidewall?
Did I do something wrong like under inflate it or is an actual defect?
These are my 3 seasons that I took off to be ready for the 17 months of winter.
Surly Dave@jim_i_am Were they stored for a long time underinflated?
@surlydave might have been 1 winter where I left them on the wheels in the garage. Last 2 winters I had swapped them for studded tires so they were off rims at the time.
@jim_i_am Seems odd, doesn't it? I find tyres usually become a bit more resilient as they age. Back in the day, racers used to store their tyres in a cool, dry dark spot for a year. It was rumoured to season the rubber. No idea if it actually did.
