-The Ottawa is rising. The New Orchard tunnel is flooded at the north end. I was on my little trucker and got wet feet, you might be ok on a normal adult sized bike. Detour up around to Richmond and then cross after the bridge and loop around if you want to avoid the water.
-Dry all along the main MUPs west to at least the greenbelt trail turn off.
-The detour around Watts Creek and Corkstown is a bit of a mess. Signage isn't clear but the road had no cars and that worked out.
-Greenbelt trail is crossed by seasonal streams especially on the north end, but totally passable.
-Rail trail west to Stittsville is fine. I hate the Kanata crossings but the city hates bikes so ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ
That's as far as I went today. 50km round trip.
Some #OttBike news; I suspect the Rideau River Eastern Pathway will flood a bit north of the O-Train bridge in a day or two, and the Voyageurs pathway is currently half-flooded in one spot between the Portage bridge and the Canadian Museum of History (AKA Civilization). I expect it will be fully flooded tomorrow or the day after.
A few weeks ago my boss asked me to switch my compressed day from Monday to Friday this week.
Today, from the vantage point of a patio at the turnaround point of a nice first long #OttBike ride from home and remembering Mondays soggyness, I have no regrets having agreed to the switch.
CBC reports: Ottawa bike share will cost just 2% of Landsdowne 2.0 - a bargain!!
Argh! So frustrating!

A cyclist who was struck by a vehicle while riding in a bike lane on Slater Street late last month says heโs frustrated with how Ottawa police responded when he called their non-emergency line to report the collision.
