I have a big butt and I cannot lie! 😂

3 water butts fitted. I was doing so well until it got to cutting the down pipe to fit the diverted kit. I got nervous about stuffing it up, so called my dad!

(awaiting the Mastodon response as when I posted on t’other place about having put together my compost bins I got abuse from someone I didn’t follow about them being plastic & told I was ‘virtue signalling’! FYI the bins and water butts are all 100% recycled plastic!) #gardening #DroughtProofing

@lilmsmally We have two in a series by our shed, but are thinking of expanding to collect from the house roof too. Hose pipe bans are going to be a lot more common, and we grow quite a bit of veg.

@nic that’s my plan for next summer, only bought the house this year and the garden is a blank canvas. Veggies and lots of flowers is the plan. It was easy enough to do, I was just nervous about cutting the down pipe so got my dad to help me make sure I did I right.

@lilmsmally I'm lucky that my partner, and Head Gardener, is a time served (but ex-) plumber who has no fear of cutting pipes

@nic my dad is an retired woodworker so very handy. Couldn’t have bought this project house without him being willing to help me.
