I never posted an #introduction. OK here goes: I'm a late-career student in a M.S. Information Science program at UALR in Arkansas, USA. I have been a professional programmer, database admin, enterprise data architect, and electricity market monitor which blended #statistics, #economics, #energy business sense and #data skills. I enjoy nerdy things like #hamradio, I fix things, I'm a husband and father, I bake bread, and err on the side of love and acceptance.
@k5dru I’m also in Arkansas. I have an amateur radio license, but I can’t say I use it much. Hasn’t been quite an enjoyable hobby for me with a technician license. Don’t really have the funds to upgrade with the interest I have to do voice HF. Otherwise, I’m also a professional programmer.
@gnuself glad to meet you. I'm near Conway. Yeah, HF is where I spend the majority of my ham time; I got lucky and passed the general directly after passing the technician test, then set about searching for an affordable HF rig. Had tons of fun with a used Kenwood TS-450SAT with computer interfaces.
