(This is the opening epigraph of my unfinished novel and work-in-progress, “The Shadow of the Black Tower”. In it, I combine the cosmic horror of Lovecraft’s original Cthulhu Mythos with Robert E. Howard inspired Sword and Sorcery adventure in a lost barbarian age… held together by the mortar of my own take on the themes of these two influential authors.)
